Control + Backspace is a very common shortcut in a lot of apps to delete the last word.
In oterm it seems to delete the entire chat with no warning or confirmation at all.
I suggest having either a warning, remapping the shortcut to something else, or at least letting you recover deleted chats for a little while before finally deleting them.
