Are you saying that QEMU won't emulate a standard NE2000 NIC? I have used QEMU many times with the ELKS NE2K driver, and it works fine. What code are compiling that actually interfaces directly to an 8-bit NE2000? The issue of 8- vs 16-bit NICs should not be an issue for any ELKS applications, just the kernel driver itself. |

i figured out the issue, was a weird edge case involving my nfs drive and execute permissions, i consider this resolved. |

so many hours wasted, until i actually looked at qemu's code and realised it will not emulate a 8bit ne2k card! hence why slip on qemu!
