MacTaskMan collects system information only to display it locally in the app. It does not transmit analytics, diagnostics, process information, usernames, file paths, launch-item metadata, or hardware measurements.
Depending on the selected view, MacTaskMan can read:
- CPU, memory, disk, network, thermal, and uptime statistics;
- process names, identifiers, usernames, executable paths, and resource use;
- LaunchAgent and LaunchDaemon property-list metadata;
- optional Apple Silicon sensor data from a user-enabled local mactop process.
This information remains in memory except for ordinary macOS preferences such as the refresh interval and whether the optional sensor provider is enabled.
MacTaskMan uses Apple's unified logging for lifecycle and provider-health events. It logs aggregate counts and provider status, not process names, usernames, executable paths, search text, or complete sensor payloads.
Diagnostic logs and screenshots created by users can still reveal information visible on their own Mac. Review them before sharing publicly.
The application contains no network client and does not contact this GitHub repository. Installing dependencies or cloning source uses tools chosen by the user outside MacTaskMan.
