Selected object not being updated

I have a problem when I highlight the entire selected object and hit backspace. It's as if it doesn't realize that the input has been cleared. Maybe these pictures will help?

In this last image, you can see that the selected object still exists even though the input has been cleared......

.....even when I click out of the box.

I updated to the latest version but the bug persists.

Is there anything I can do?

Highlighting and hitting backspace works for me.
What is not working?

When I highlight and delete with backspace the text in the input, the selected-object keeps the old value.

When I do the same but using the delete key instead of backspace, it works perfectly.

Yep, linux too.
Mac keyboard is inferior when it comes to Backspace.

A code example of what I'm trying to do, I would host it in a Plunker or something similar but it is very coupled to a lot of other modules to make it work on its own easily.

I used my usb keyboard but couldn't reproduce it.
@Boshen Your machine is ubuntu, isn't it? Could you try this?

As I don't see this bug in my environment, I can't really fix this.
My collaborator @Boshen might be able to help but he is always busy.
