[Feature Request] Keybinding Action that changes the background color

My use case is this:

• I use many terminals simultaneously, sometimes local shells (fish, bash, dash, etc.), and also ssh into different OSs some of them are pretty old (Solaris, HP-UX, etc.)
• It is very useful for me to "color-code" those terminals in a very visual and arbitrary way (not tied to rules like "red means remote or sudo"), to mark things like "this terminal is dangerous because I am an admin user and it is production, so make it red"
• I also teach and I do things like "this terminal is one developer using git, lets say Bob, it will be green", "and this other is Kevin, it will be blue", etc.

So it would be great a native way to associate a keybind to a color change, I cannot rely on commands or shell mechanisms because they might be available or not.

It could be a keybinding action, something like:

keybind = f5=set-background:#ff0000

I hope it makes sense. Unfortunately I am not available to code but I am available to compile and test.
