This is how it already works, the reason you don't think it does is because tmux runs in the alternate screen where the default behavior is to pass through all mouse events unless you hold shift (which you seem to note?) |

Currently a mouse drag is passed-through to tmux yes (or any app running that declares handling mouse events). And shift+mouse drag -> selection handled by ghostty itself. I'm feature-requesting here a setting that would keep mouse drag selection handled by ghostty (NOT passed through to tmux). All other mouse events (scroll wheel, etc) would be passed through to tmux, just not any selection related events. |

I use tmux, but do not like its mouse selection...
For people in my case, it would be awesome if there was a setting that allowed to configure this.
It would be something like "pass through mouse events, except for selection related mouse events".
Some terminals (example: iTerm2) allow for this (clumsily, but still better than holding
shiftwhile selecting).What would be awesome is if that setting let ghostty handle selection related events without "passing them through" to tmux and the like, those events would be:
