Observation
The default colour theme of Ghostty maps the ANSI colour 31 to the colour sRBG(0.8, 0.4, 0.4).
When the
display-p3option is on, the colour is distorted to sRBG(0.859, 0.370, 0.386). This is because sRBG(0.859, 0.370, 0.386) is the same colour as P3(0.8, 0.4, 0.4).Context
From the documentation I understand that
display-p3is used to interpret RGB triplets from “[…] your configuration and colors produced by direct-color SGR sequences.”Request
Since it looks like the colourscheme of Ghostty has been designed in the sRBG space, and that the sRBG space is strictly included in the P3 space, I would expect the default Ghostty colourscheme to stay unaffected by the
