Feature request: Paste Preview

A feature I frequently use in iterm2 is "advanced paste" which provides the option of a paste preview window when pasting multiple lines into the terminal. This allows you to edit and verify the content prior to pasting.

The iterm2 implementation also provides other useful features such as bracketed paste mode, converting line endings and to control the speed of the chunks being pasted which are all nice to have but the real value I see is to view/edit/verify what is being pasted.

Ghostty doesn't have any options to manipulate pasted data but if you're pasting multi line data and bracketed paste mode hasn't been turned on it will show you a preview window. That could be extended to provide such an interface.

great, it appears that and "clipboard-paste-protection" brings up a prompt to verify the text being pasted. Any idea how unsafe text is evaluated? The option reference mentions "Require confirmation before pasting text that appears unsafe"

If it could be extended so that text could be edited in the prompt window that be amazing.

Its considered unsafe if it contains newlines.
