12 hours power usage of ghostty is much more than alacritty and kitty in macOS

12 hours power usage of ghostty is two to three times than alacritty and kitty in macOS.
Why?

I'm guessing the execution loop needs some kind of exponential back off on how frequent it updates.

I've noticed this as well, I might take a look at this later if nobody else gets to it first.

This is very, very hard to measure. I have doubts. But note that the power usage reported will contain any programs also running in Ghostty. So, to truly test this, you'd have to have an exact same shell-only zero input setup between the two programs. (Focus vs not focus is also important, since Ghostty idles at 0% unfocused and 1 to 4% focused depending on config).

Please report back with more reproducible data and I'd be extremely happy to look more into this.
