This is an action defined by Bash, not Ghostty; you would want to bind it in your Bash configuration1. Footnotes

On MacOS when using terminal I often use the shortcut
Option
+.
to insert the last argument of the previous command. For example:
This only when setting "use option as meta key" in terminal's settings and otherwise inserts the character
≥
.When I use the same key comibnation in ghostty I get
≥
.I've tried various settings but nothing seems to work.
Tried adding these to the ghostty configuration:
Side-note: I couldn't find a list of the possible keybind values (the commands that can be bound), it would be very helpful to have a command print all these out or have them documented somewhere online. I don't even know if
insert-last-argument
and/oryank-last-arg
are valid options, these were suggested to me by AI.Also tried adding this to my bashrc:
Can anyone advise if this is possible to do in ghostty and if so why?
This is pretty much the only thing that I haven't been able to fix in my workflow since migrating to ghostty.
Thank you!
