[READ ME FIRST]: Discussion Rules

Hi! Welcome to Ghostty's discussion board. This is where users ask questions, propose suggestions, and resolve their issues about Ghostty.

Please make sure you understand and agree to these rules before posting, which are simplified in the interest of your time:

1. Be respectful; do not use hate speech or harass other users.

2. Any form of spamming, trolling, flaming is not allowed.

3. Keep things friendly and topical.

4. Listen to Ghostty team members, including maintainers and community helpers. If you disagree with them, don't argue in public.

5. Read our help page and look for existing posts before you post — your problem might already be documented, including:

   • gtk-adwaita: unknown field #5799
   • Compilation failed: /build.zig.zon:2:14: error: expected string literal #6732
   • Ghostty renders fonts thinner than others #5948
   • 'xterm-ghostty': unknown terminal type. #6906

6. If you have the same issue or agree with a feature proposal, please click the "upvote" button or react with an emoji instead of adding a new comment.

   For each new comment, everyone subscribed to the post would receive an email notification. To avoid disturbing others, you should only comment when you have new information or ideas that could be beneficial for the post as a whole. We will unconditionally mark comments that add nothing of value (e.g. "+1", "I also need this") as spam.

7. Users play a part in issue reproduction and developing feature requests. Team members could not always replicate the exact circumstances that led to an issue — just saying "it doesn't work" and leaving helps no one.

8. Do not revive old posts, especially ones that have already been resolved.
