All completions are done entirely by the shell ghostty has no clue what a completion is. Windows is able to do this much easier with powershell because it has much tighter control in the ecosystem. Again this isn't a terminal feature rather a shell one (shells can't just render whatever they want though like tui applications) (warp could be another example where maybe this works? They do some crazy stuff that I don't think is likely to be added to ghostty at least from previous discussions relating to warp features) Edit I just read the windows thing, i didnt realize it was a protocol maybe it makes much more sense when ghostty works on windows. Otherwise again a shell would need to implement the functionality before a terminal did (I would imagine both at the same time would be better for both parties) Are there any shells on linux or macos that are going to support it? If not then it makes no sense as it will never work It also looks like that feature is still experimental on windows and they even say its not suitable for other shells to implement yet
(That is not the correct #3121 I am too lazy to link the correct one) |

It looks like mitchell is interested in the popup idea from this comment This seems like a duplicate of that other post though |
