I can confirm the same behaviour on tip from today and yesterday's version on macOS 26 $ ghostty +version

After playing around with the window settings (
window-padding-color,macos-titlebar-style,macos-window-shadow), ghostty now switches between light and dark themes as expected. I don't know exactly what caused it, and I have not managed to reproduce the bug, but hopefully, this helps.
