Vivaldi: Check extension updates, and why it might disable the extension #325

@rkodey

Description

@rkodey

@rkodey I didn't save the session when migrating from 8.0.0 to 8.1.0.

My browser (Vivaldi) just notified me that this extension was now disabled. I re-enabled it, and I can see the version is now 8.1.1.

What I can also see is that all my suspended tabs are gone. I've been trying to find them and I can't... and it looks like I'm not the only one with this problem.

I'd love to continue using this extension, but I can't keep losing tabs. It's just too unreliable. Uninstalling...

Thanks @diegoteliz - this sounds like a scenario I haven't seen before. If Vivaldi truly disables the extension, then all of the code that detects version updates to restore tabs would be bypassed. Certainly, that's not good for our extension!

I'll have to investigate Vivaldi further - it seems there may be a few issues related to that browser.
