Suspended tabs are not restored with extensions like Session Buddy

For the last few weeks many tabs will not restore with extensions like Session Buddy, with a New Tab page appearing in place of them. Although the backups themselves would save all tabs and thereby allow one to manually restore affected tabs one by one, needless to say this would be a very tedious and time-consuming process. From what I can tell, the affected tabs would (only?) include those that were suspended at the time the backup was generated.

This was never an issue until recently. Moreover, said behavior has been observed on multiple browsers (updated Opera (124.0.5705.42) and Chrome (142.0.7444.176)

I've run some tests with Session Buddy v4.1.0, and so far everything is restoring as expected for me.

To help identify your issue, could you help clarify:

• Are you selecting a Snapshot from History? And then clicking Open to restore the tabs? Or, a different process?
• Do any Suspended tabs restore correctly? Or do they all end up with a New Tab page?
• Could you copy-paste an example URL that fails into this thread? Please copy from the Session Buddy interface.
• What version of TMS and Session Buddy you're running?

• Yes, that's exactly my process.
• From my experience, 99% fail. However, I have finally encountered one suspended tab which did restore correctly:

• Here is an unsuccessful example:
  • chrome-extension://noogafoofpebimajpfpamcfhoaifemoa/suspended.html#ttl=Shoes%20similar%20to%20Saucony%20Ride%20%3A%20AskRunningShoeGeeks&pos=0&uri=https://old.reddit.com/r/AskRunningShoeGeeks/comments/1glrlsa/shoes_similar_to_saucony_ride/
• Both are updated to their respective most recent versions (TMS 8.1.2, SB 4.1.0)

I've determined the origin of the observed issues.

Recently, to get around Opera preventing users from installing extensions that would take control of new tab handling, I had installed the following extension:

• New Tab & Toolbox (https://chromewebstore.google.com/detail/new-tab-toolbox/mjfahldkpjhcnfbbmdhpjolcjpcfhcpj)

And used it to redirect to another extension's new tab page as a workaround

• Humble New Tab Page (https://chromewebstore.google.com/detail/humble-new-tab-page/mfgdmpfihlmdekaclngibpjhdebndhdj)

After turning off this extension and repeating a failed restore from earlier, suspended pages now restore correctly.

In the event this cannot be addressed, I'll simply toggle the extension off/on every time I have to perform a restore. Not a terrible inconvenience.
