Hyperlink acts differently in different versions of PowerPoint?

Hi Team,

I have a presentation with a slide containing hyperlink text.
I have tried opening the presentation with PowerPoint of versions 2007, 2010 and 2016 and noticed the different behaviours of it.

For 2007, the presentation file gets corrupted and displayed a blank slide.

For 2010, the hyperlink works and to open the hyperlink, I have to right-click the text and select 'Open hyperlink'.

For 2016, the hyperlink works too and I can simply open the hyperlink by doing Ctrl + left click on it.

Just wondering if these are the normal behaviours due to the versions of PowerPoint?
Can anyone verifies this?

I wasn't aware that hyperlinks caused issues in PowerPoint 2007, otherwise, the behavior seems normal.

If you could save a simple slide with a text hyperlink and attach it here, I'll diff it to see if I discern a fix.

Due to the nature of my work, im not allowed to take any documents out of my work environment and hence i cant replicate a version of the 2007 ppt copy for you. And sadly i cant seem to find a licensed 2007 office for me to replicate the ppt for you to try, it would be of immense help to me if somehow you could help replicate this environment or give me a affirmation that there exist a conflict in differing versions of office suites. Thank you for your assistance in this.
