Can speckit easily switch between AI Agents ? Moving from Claude to GH Copilot

Hi,
Does speckit support switching between AIAgents? in the case of claude to GHCP. is it a matter copying the contents of .claude/commands to .github/prompts?

Yeah, I have the same question. I sometimes switch between claude and copilot in the same project. That does not seem possible at the moment in spec-kit, without setting up the commands and prompts for both AIs.

I use with both Cursor and Claude Code.

I had the project initially configured for Cursor. Here is what I did:

• First ensure that everything is commited as the following commands will overwrite things like your constitution.md
• Run specify init --here again in the project. Select the AI agent you want. This will overwrite your constitution.md and maybe some other files. Revert the changes to constitution.md but examine all other changes to see if want to keep or revert. Some of the changes may be related to newer versions of the scripts, for example. If this is the case, you may want to upgrade the commands for the other AI agent as well by repeating this process.

Thats what I did as well.

I had a small problem with the .github/agents though. They were not picked up "automatically" by copilot. In older version of spec-kit there was no .github/agents dir, only the .github/prompts dir. I told copilot explicity to use the *.agent.md from the agents dir and it seems to work for now.

Would be cool if you can "initialise" spec kit for multiple agents, and you don't have to do anything more! 🙏
