Comparing working tree with remote

Hello,

It looks like in my current Gitlens version (and also some versions before) Gitlens only shows diffs on new directories and files when they are stages in the "Compare working tree" with ...". But, I would expect the working tree to be the local files on disk and not the Git staging area?

Hi @danielvanmil can you add some more details as to what you are attempting and expecting?

Use case:

• Clone a repository
• Add a file with some content (but do not add to staging area/index)
• Compare the working tree with the remote

I would expect the file to be viewed in the differences, but it is not?
When I add it to the staging area/index it is?
