Backup/Restore. Moving to a new machine

I am using a Docker container on Linux, and moving to a new machine.

What is the easiest way to move Postiz from one machine to another and retain all of the settings and links to Social Media accounts. If it matters, my IP address will end up being the same, so from all the Social Media accounts it (should look like nothing has changed).

I would simply copy the contents of the docker volumes to the new host using rsync. If you are using docker volumes instead of bind mounts, make sure to create them on the new host first. If you're on Debian, you can find them under /var/lib/docker/volumes/. Before transferring anything, stop all containers to prevent data corruption.

I personally prefer bind mounts for this reason. You don't have to deal with Docker volumes, and moving data is much simpler.

Thanks. I do have bind mounts, but not for the postgres DB voulme and I assume that is where that is that I'm interested in.

Will your method of simply copying the rsyn'ed volume to my new machine work? How to I "tell" the new instance of Potiz the location of the postgress DB volume?

Postiz doesn’t care where the Postgres database is running. All the information it needs is contained in the DATABASE_URL connection string you provide.
All you need to do is copy the Postgres volume and point the new database container to it. The connection string can stay the same, and everything should come up as usual. If you want to be extra careful, you can do a pgdump first.
