add hostname to pid file? #1997

Description

Is your feature request related to a problem? Please describe.
It would be helpful to log the hostname of the device where a compute endpoint is started. For machines with multiple access nodes, this would be helpful to log somewhere.

Describe the solution you'd like
When an endpoint is started a file called daemon.pid is written to the endpoint directory containing the pid of the endpoint process. Could the hostname be added to this file as well (e.g. polaris-login-02).

Describe alternatives you've considered
I've looked through the logs for information on the host where an endpoint is started and it doesn't appear anywhere I can find. If I'm returning to a node/service it would be helpful to have some place to check this. Most of our systems have multiple access nodes and they rotate in and out of service.
