Bug description

After installing GLPI-Agent_v1.15-1, we observed a significant performance degradation on the database server.
Both MySQL and PostgreSQL became extremely slow, causing service disruptions and failures in applications that rely on these databases.

Affected environment

GLPI: 10.0.16

PHP: 8.2.29 (fpm-fcgi)

Apache: 2.4.52

Agent: GLPI-Agent_v1.15-1

The issue started immediately after the agent installation/update, suggesting a possible direct correlation between the GLPI Agent and the increased load or excessive database queries.

to me glpi-agent is probably not the problem. Have you even stop the service to show it can be the problem ? Have you checked glpi-agent log for errors which could show a problem and give us a clue ? Glpi-agent only tries to interact with databases during inventory task which is intended to happen only one time a day (by default, but more if you uses a shorter inventory delay).

We performed tests by stopping the glpi-agent service and, immediately after it was stopped, the performance issue ceased spontaneously. As a result, database performance returned to normal levels.

It is important to note that this server hosts a large number of databases as well as high data volumes, which may amplify any increase in load or resource consumption during agent tasks, such as inventory execution.

Given this scenario, we would like to confirm whether this factor (number of databases and data volume) could influence the behavior of the glpi-agent and cause this performance impact, even considering that inventory tasks run only once per day by default.

What's the operating system ? Do you have any error in glpi-agent log ?

Can you add "database" in "no-category" configuration to disable database inventory ? Then do you still have any performance issues when glpi-agent is then restarted ? The question is to know if your performance issues are related to database inventory it self.
