Webkit. Resource not found: lib/security/public_suffix_list.dat

Hello,

Native image when open some www pages in WebView the program/jvm crash with only information below.
I have run the agent but the missing public_suffix_list.dat is just not picked up.
Not sure why the file is need for some pages and not for other.

Hi @Hugolarson,

Have you tried building with the latest stable versions? The combination you’re using (gluonfx-maven-plugin 1.0.23 + graalvm-community-openjdk-21.0.2) is quite old and may miss important fixes.

I’d recommend testing with:

• gluonfx-maven-plugin 1.0.27
• GraalVM CE Gluon 22.1.0.1-Final → Download here

These newer versions are maintained by Gluon and provide much better compatibility with JavaFX, WebView, and substrate. It’s worth checking if the public_suffix_list.dat resource issue is resolved there.

Thank you for the suggestion.

GraalVM CE Gluon 22.1.0.1-Final (Java 17) ) is older than graalvm-community-openjdk-21.0.2 (Java 21).

Thanks for the clarification. Just to add some context:

• The gluonfx-maven-plugin works best with the official GraalVM builds provided by Gluon:
  👉 https://github.com/gluonhq/graal/releases
• The stable plugins 1.0.23, 1.0.26, and 1.0.27 are designed to work with:
  GraalVM CE Gluon 22.1.0.1-Final (Java 17)
• If you want to experiment with Java 21+ (e.g., 23), you can try:
  • gluonfx-maven-plugin 1.0.25 → works with VMOne and
    GraalVM CE Gluon 23+25.1-dev-2409082136
    ⚠️ But please note: 1.0.25 was experimental, not officially supported on Windows or Linux x86, and has since been abandoned. After 1.0.26, development reverted to the stable 1.0.23 baseline and continues from there.

So for stability, I’d recommend sticking with 1.0.27 + GraalVM 22.1.0.1-Final, unless you specifically need to test Java 21/23 features and are okay with the limitations.

There is some change.
Webview launch but crash after a while with error below.
Thats the only info. Nothing else in log file
