This has popped up in my mind when I was thinking about enhancing the documentation of Addons and Plugins
I think the difference between plugins, addons, gdextension, tools and modules may not really be clear to many users and could need a disambiguation wiki page.
A good place in my opinion would be a dedicated disambiguation section in the manual. However that would 100% leave the scope of just enhancing the plugin/addon documentation. I think it would also need more than just one use-case to warrant its existence.
Hence I am opening this discussion to collectively think about:
- are there other areas in Godot that would benefit from disambiguation?
- what is the best way to implement that?
