Limit of 15 retention rules per project

We're running into a problem where we don't have enough spots for retention rules in a project.
The fact that 15 can't be changed via config to something higher is baffling to me.

We have 5 repositories within the project.
Repositories can contain multiple tags (I count about 9 total so far).
We also keep archive versions of our platform running of the last 6 years, which would add another 6 retention policies, because we want to keep the last 3 of each year. 9 + 6 = 15 exactly.

So we might just barely make the limit, given we absolutely add no other repository.

I don't understand why this is being limited.

I do agree that adding a configurable option for the number of retention rules per project would be useful, especially since the other issue mentions that the maximum was added initially as training wheels. I'd be willing to help out with this feature by:

• Opening a PR to make the number of retention rules configurable, with a default of 15 so it doesn't break and is backward compatible
  • The config input would live under the Project Configuration tab, and I can add it elsewhere if needed
• If agreed upon, a PR to change the UI into a paginated datagrid similar to the Retention Runs table, since having a large number of rules shown line by line wouldn't look appealing
