A wrapper script is used to extend the original executable with additional functionality. It will call lf in the background for you, and you can name it whatever you want. For example, if you name it lfrun, you would launch the file manager using lfrun instead of calling lf directly to access the new functionality.

As for the location of the script, it needs to be in one of the directories listed in your PATH variable. You can look up how to add new directories to PATH, or simply check which ones are already included by running echo $PATH.
