Requirements for @mediapipe/tasks-vision (e.g. browser version, etc).

Hi there!

I could not find any doc resource where there are the requirement for libs such as @mediapipe/tasks-vision. I am looking for things like which is the min Electron/Chromium/Chrome version needed for @mediapipe/tasks-vision to work. Is there such info somewhere? Thanks.

Hi @joliveraortega,

Officially, Electron and Chromium are not currently supported. Our supported browsers are Chrome and Safari, and this information is available in our documentation here. Unfortunately, details regarding specific supported versions for these browsers are not available at this time. However, we believe you should mention the minimum versions somewhere in our documentation.

Thanks for your answer. I saw you guys document https://ai.google.dev/edge/mediapipe/solutions/setup_web#supported_platforms_and_versions but did not see on which version (or minimum version for any of those). I know also about Electron not being an officially supported but It seems to work (recent versions). For Electron versions such as v15 (I know, quite old) It does not work sadly. Electron v15 is Chrome 94 according to what I checked. I suspect @mediapipe/tasks-vision won't work either in Chrome 94 (have not tested this).

The issue we are facing there is the following one:

[91442:0423/165535.139139:ERROR:gles2_cmd_decoder.cc(13367)] [.WebGL-0x154a22400]GL ERROR :GL_INVALID_OPERATION : glReadPixels: format and type incompatible with the current read framebuffer

It seems the format passed to glReadPixels is a format that cannot be handled. Not sure there is much we can do that. We might want to try to disable GPU support and see but I am afraid the latency (which is very important for us) will be affected.

I also went through https://ai.google.dev/edge/api/mediapipe/js/tasks-vision to look for any possible way to tweak "something" so this does not happen. Couldn't find anything useful. I would thank any pointer you can share, I am a bit stuck here.
