Clarify 'Ensure animation works with larger screens' in "Animations Between Views"

In https://developers.google.com/web/fundamentals/look-and-feel/animations/animating-between-views, I'm not really sure I understand 'Ensure your animation works with larger screens' section.

Need more clarity on this.

Basically, I'm use to lists on the left (like table of contents), and there isn't a slide on a large screen. So this kind of confuses me from what the norm is.
