Remote files and range requests

Are there any plans for making this work with remote files as well? If so, I would be curious range requests could be supported, as opposed to plainly downloading the entire file.

This is an interesting feature. What we were planning to have is a model that only needs the beginning part of the file as input (so that one doesn't need to download the entire file), but we didn't think about using range requests to selectively download part of the file. We need to prioritize other features at the moment, but I've marked this as "help needed" in case someone wants to take a stab at it. Thanks for the suggestion!
