Status check: PR #1269 (MATH table support)

PR #1269 (MATH table support) has been open since November 2024 with no activity since the initial codegen discussion. A follow-up question in November 2025 asking about its status went unanswered.

Issue #1491 (closed as duplicate of #1269) shows there is downstream interest — Typst needs MATH table support to migrate from RustyBuzz to harfRuzz.

Could a maintainer share the current status of this PR? Specifically:

• Is the codegen blocker (records not part of an array, e.g. MathValueRecord embedded in MathConstants / GlyphAssembly) still the open issue, or has the situation changed?
• Is @simoncozens still planning to drive this forward, or is this open for someone else to pick up?

I can add that if we were to move to HarfRust in Chrome, we need a replacement for the HarfBuzz MATH table parsing functionality we currently use to support MathML.

sorry, this has definitely slipped through the cracks.

We will support the MATH table. There's a bunch of other work backed up at the moment, but I would expect us to have attention for this in the next month or so.
