Send confirmation email immediately once email list is updated

Hi I am still vary unfamiliar with Google App Script and currently am using Google Sheet to save the list of emails but not through Google Forms but with my own code. Is it possible to send a confirmation email immediately once the email automatically updated in the sheets without Google Forms and only from Google Sheets itself? It would be really helpful to get the code too! (My current spreadsheet only collects emails (only in 1 column) for newsletter subscription in my own website)
