I was wondering what you think of having a map with gophers on it?

The thing is, encoding a lat, long a JSON pull request is kind've ugly. Using IP-address based lookup or Geolocation would be nicer, but that necessitates a database and makes the whole thing more complex.

Can we grab location from github profile?
(Potencial problem are folks(modern nomad) with more than one location)

I would like to see gophertown visualization in a way:

• continents = city regions
• countries = city blocks
• town as street.

but that is much... more complex.

I think I'd prefer keep it to the granularity of city.

Being a public map, not everyone wants people to know their street address.

The nomad is an interesting point.
