Is it possible to run promtail as a Windows Service without third party wrappers like NSSM?

I have a working configuration for windows server promtail.

Im struggling trying to run it as a windows service, the binary doesn't seems to be built for that. We have done several tests, but the promtail process always fails when handled by the service control manager.

If this is not possible (run promtail as a service): how should i run a promtail process in a windows computer?

Again, i don't want to use third party apps like NSSM (non sucking service manager) to wrap the promtail binary.

The provided link does not help as the service does not run when using sc or powershell to create a service. I think this is because promtail on windows outputs data to console so windows services timesout as it thinks the service has not started. course i am not a windows guy so that is a theory..

so anyone know of a way to have promtail as a service?
