The Call for Participation has gone out for FOSDEM 2026 devrooms. FOSDEM is on January 31st and February 1st in 2026 in Brussels.
What is FOSDEM and FOSDEM devrooms?
FOSDEM is a two day, free and non-commercial event held in Brussels, Belguim, in February each year. It brings together over 8,000 software developers to meet, share ideas and collaborate on free and open source software. The FOSDEM team feel it is very important that developers get to meet offline and so run Devrooms to facilitate this - rooms with talks, panels and showcases centered around one theme where developers can share ideas and publicly present their latest findings, news and projects in a collaborative atmosphere. What did we do last year?
We were involved in the organising of a devroom focused around API technologies - teaming up with OpenAPI and AsyncAPI. You can see the call for speakers on the graphql.org website: https://graphql.org/blog/2024-11-04-fosdem-2025/
This year
Would we like to be involved in running a devroom again? I don't know if Benjie and I can make it next year so we need a small team who can definitely make the dates. I am happy to look over the talk submissions with the rest of the team.
GraphQL Stand
We also ran a GraphQL Foundation stand last year, is there interest in this?
Closing dates
The closing date for a devroom proposal is 12th October, the devrooms are then announced a week later.
