The desktop_groups option for non-AD desktop access has limited information in documentation. host_groups for SSH access is listed in the example role specification and there is an entire page for host user creation for ssh.

How will we know this is resolved?

The desktop groups setting for non-AD windows will be included in relevant areas. That will give an example of how to set desktop groups that can be applied such as adding users to the Administrators group.
