Angular Version

What version(s) are supported?

#39 is still open; not sure if this is an Angular 1.x only supported library, or if in the last 2 or 3 years the library added support for newer versions of Angular.

Sorry for the late response. Unfortunately, we are still stuck with 1.x version of the library and have been unable to spare enough time for working on this project lately.

We are still using this project for our own commercial service though, which at this moment uses Angular 1.6.8, so you can consider this to be the version it currently supports the best.

I'll post an update to #39 if we ever come up with releasing a new version that can work with Angular 2+. Thanks!

How much work do you think would be involved in porting this project over to an Angular 5 supported version?

I know a lot has changed (probably everything compared to 1.x), but Angular's right up there with React in terms of adoption these days. It would be a huge win for the Scala ecosystem to have both React and Angular supported libraries on offer.

Would love to go back to Scala.js, but am stuck with Typescript in current Angular 5 project. TS is decent enough, but Scala.js is just simply fantastic.

Honestly, I have no idea since I haven't yet read much about Angular 5. The reason why we haven't been able to keep up with the development is that we've been too busy lately with the service that depends on Angular 1.x.

I hope we could resume our work later once we release our proprietary project, but for now I'm afraid I won't be able to start working on Angular 2+ anytime soon.

However, I agree with you that it'd be great for the Scala.js community if someone could provide a working Angular 5 binding, if we cannot do it ourselves soon.

As long as Angular adoption remains strong at some point Angular 5 + Scala.js will happen. Would be nice if that were to happen sooner than later ;-)

Haven't looked through the source of this project but I bet there's quite a bit of code that can be re-used for an Angular 5 branch.

Maybe adding something to the readme along the lines of, "This project supports Angular 1.x. If you're interested in adding support for Angular 5, PRs are most welcome" would help to orient users like myself that come upon the project.
