I have to enable CAT before the radio will reply to any of the functions used to fill the HUD.
Sending 00 in hex 5 times after powering on my radio fixes everything. Seems nuts to send nothing to get something.
I added a function to send CMD_CAT_ON (a load of nothing) on program start and this works perfectly.
