ways to calculate retirement of Assets in a given year?

This is so far what I've used:

Custom Asset Reports > Status is "Archived" > Generate > Last Check-In Date

This generates a report for when an Asset last had its status modified and swapped to Archived. Is there a better way to calculate EOL values for, say, the entire year of 2024? I've tried to look into Deprecation & Deprecation Reports, but it doesn't appear to be working with default values.

Any suggestions or feedback is appreciated.
