As the intention is to store the data permanently, even after the devices are returned, it must be noted that the data may only be stored for as long as is necessary for the actual purpose of its use.
Accordingly, the data must be deleted after a certain period and not be stored indefinitely. To effectively address data protection concerns, the data must be deleted three years after the end of the calendar year in which the devices were returned.
As a result, the data may be stored for three full years plus the remainder of the year in which the device was returned.
