Yearly Journal Organizer & Archive Timeline (module 3)

Hello:

A quick project review comprising:

1. Yearly Journal Organizer with categories
2. Monthly File Structure Tree
3. Year Overview
4. Past Years Archive & Timeline

This post outlines module number 3, Year Overview.

For all these to work in tandem proceed as follows.

1. Create a root folder on your computer (i.e. in Documents) and name it something. Do not name it Markor because the root folder on your phone, also named Markor, employs a different path. This can cause massive confusion down the line. Call it anything but Markor.
2. Create the html Yearly Organizer Calendar (also called Yearly (input) Journal Organizer) by following instructions in my first post.
3. Copy the html Yearly Organizer Calendar to your Markor root folder on phone.
4. Create a shortcut to the html calendar on the phone home screen which gives you instant access to input and notes.
5. As you dynamically create content in Markor with the html Yearly Organizer Calendar, new months/categories/events are added in the 2025 folder, or in whatever year you're working in.
6. When you have sufficient content, say a few months, replace the 2025 folder in your computer root folder with the one created on your phone.
7. Place the python file 'generate_year_overview.py' in your computer root folder and run it. It will create an updated html file named Year_Overview. html. Preview it in a browser.
8. Copy the Yearly_Overview.html file to your phone.

And a couple of screenshots further down. The default view on desktop is a grid. On the phone it renders as a single column. Toggling works as follows: Top bar drop-down displays chosen category in each month. Month toggle displays singular month, hides others. Individual month boxes are scrollable if content over-flows. File names link to documents. The Highlights items live in a folder named Highlight Events (call it what you want) inside the 2025 folder. The idea is to add them at the end of each year.
