Timed out waiting for device

On a RHEL8.10, I'm experiencing a side effect that doesn't occur when dracut-sshd is disabled.

[ TIME ] Timed out waiting for device dev-mapper-rhel100\x2dswap.device.
[ DEPEND] Dependency failed for Resume from hibernation using device /dev/mapper/rhel100-swap.

Whether you enter the LUKS password via SSH or locally, it takes two minutes to reach GDM, whereas without dracut-sshd it happens instantly.

FWIW, I usually set up my machines without any swap configured since IMHO they have enough RAM available.

I know that there are some vocal pro-swap evangelists out there who argue that you should always configure swap even when you upgrade RAM size several fold.
But I find their arguments weak.

Anyhow, your error looks like the path/id of your swap device changed after encryption and thus the timeout.
So I would double-check /etc/fstab, i.e. whether the swap line is still accurate.
Perhaps also compare with lsblk -o +uuid.

With swap setup you also have many options, e.g. one could argue that swap being on the same encrypted volume as your root/home filesystem is suboptimal.
Perhaps a better alternative setup is to encrypt the swap partition separately, i.e. with an ephemeral key that is randomly generated on each boot (because you only would need swap partition content persisting reboots if you want to support hibernation, which is probably very tricky to setup and fragile, in any case).

Nowadays there is also zram which you could setup with a backing device, but I have no experience with that and I don't know if it's already available on rhel8.
