Supporting versions ranges in pURL

Starting to see purl examples using version ranges (not an EBNF in sight ... ) .

I am wary of injecting these kind of semantics inside an identifier ... prefer working at the finest grain of identity and avoid complexity of relating multiple purls.

If we consider a pURL as an identifier we might generate multiple idiomatic pURL when we encounter such a thing... alternately we might consider directly supporting pURL with version ranges.

Any thoughts ?
