Description

Dependency

  • A team member has a question or suggestion for the team that ISN'T to do with a particular issue. For example:
    • 'Can anyone tell me how to do Z? I tried googling it but I can't find the info I need'
    • 'Has anyone found a way round this glitch on X?'
    • 'Is it just me or is anyone else finding it hard to do Y? Here's what happened last time I tried...'
    • 'What do you think about doing A instead of B? I found A better, and here's why...'

Overview

We're here to help each other. All team members (especially new ones) are encouraged to ask questions and offer suggestions regarding our work on the project, not matter how big or small the topic is.

We need a place to post general questions and suggestions for the rest of the team. Writing our questions, suggestions, and answers here also enables us to keep a record of our work/knowledge, and to update the wiki if necessary.

Note: if you have a question about a particular issue, please create a new comment on that issue, @mention the relevant Lead/person you want to ask, and write your question there before moving that issue into the Questions/Review column (see below for instructions on how to do that).

Action Items

For questions/suggestions

  • Add your question/suggestion to a new comment below
  • Move the issue to the Questions/Review column on the project board (in the Projects section to the right of this comment, click the the Status dropdown under P: PD: Project Board, and select ?Questions/Review)
  • Add the label question (in the Labels section to the right of this comment, click the gear icon, type 'question' into the search box, and click the checkbox to add the label)

For answers/responses

  • Copy the link for the comment you're responding to
  • Copy and paste the following template into a new comment with the question/suggestion:
**A:** @[ADD PERSON'S GITHUB HANDLE], [PASTE LINK TO COMMENT YOU'RE RESPONDING TO], [ADD YOUR ANSWER/RESPONSE]
  • Once you've finished adding your answer/response, consider whether this requires an update to the project wiki
  • If so, edit wiki
