@shmonks The other issue #306 doesn't really depend on this one. That DR should record why it's currently a good idea to use Alpine, and ideally, what conditions could make Alpine not a good idea at a future time.

Actually, this issue depends on #306, because this issue needs to look at the DR page that #306 creates.
