Registration as self and interface problem

[Update] In manifest.json I am switch from 1.17 to 1.16 and back and now it all magically work again!

I am using VContainer 1.17.0

i've got something like this:

builder.Register<MainViewModel>(Lifetime.Scoped).As<IMainViewModel>().AsSelf();
// or
builder.Register<IMainViewModel, MainViewModel>(Lifetime.Scoped).AsSelf();
...
builder.RegisterBuildCallback(r =>
      {
          // This is for example in code this is also exeption
          var mainVmBase = r.Resolve<IMainViewModel>(); // This is normal
          var mainVm = r.Resolve<MainViewModel>(); // Error here no such registration
      });

I don't understand what I am doing wrong? Is this because somewhere is circular dependency in code?

This is expected behavior.

Register<IMainViewModel, MainViewModel>() only registers the service (IMainViewModel). So Resolve<IMainViewModel>() works, but Resolve<MainViewModel>() won’t unless you also register the concrete.

Just add .AsSelf() on the concrete registration:

builder.Register<MainViewModel>(Lifetime.Scoped)
    .As<IMainViewModel>()
    .AsSelf();

(or register MainViewModel separately as self).

Not a circular dep thing — if it was, you’d get a circular dependency error, not “no such registration”. Also worth noting: resolving stuff inside RegisterBuildCallback is kinda “pulling” things early; usually I’d rather inject where needed, but for debugging this is fine.
