The problem with installing dash to plank is that it disables Plank. That is not only unexpected but very unwelcome because all of the precious customization of the Plank are gone with no undo.
From the description one would hope that we keep the Plank and have better GNOME integration.
In my ignorance I assumed that dash to plank would actually integrate Plank better with GNOME so that the Applications startup Time Measure extensions would work.
Ach I don't mean to rain on your parade but perhaps a better explanation of what dash to plank is actually supposed to accomplish might be the best I can expect from sharing this.
