This looks resolved.
The floating expand button (with its own JS-based position calculation) was replaced by #1817, which moved it into MapZoomBar alongside the zoom +/- controls. Confirmed live in production (deployed 2026-08-19, commit f29d0d89): the position is now consistent, no more "weird position" issue.
