Local DNS resolution possible?

Can hev-socks5-tunnel be configured for local DNS resolution (to send IP addresses to the SOCKS server instead of hostnames)?

Ok. Now the algorithm is:

1. Client software sends DNS q type A to fake DNS;
2. The hev-socks5-tunnel sends reply to client with fake IP address and maps fake IP to hostname;
3. Client software sends connection request (TCP SYN) to the fake IP address;
4. The hev-socks5-tunnel sends the SOCKS Client Connection Request with hostname to proxy;

Can we send the real IP address to proxy instead of the hostname at step 4?

Hmm. Why not use a real dns server? You can manage the dns bypass proxy by routing rules if needed.

I want to use the hev-socks5-tunnel to bypass the Russian Government filters. So I need to route only the banned hostnames to proxy using mapdns feature. But the filter is looking into the SOCKS stream and blocks connections with banned hostnames ...

How does the hev-socks5-tunnel get the ip of domain if your isp banned it? If not, why don't you use real dns instead?

You should use a socks5 proxy with obfuscation or encryption features.
