show layer names in the layout viewer #244

Hello,
I am using GDSPY to create and visualize layout, one thing I notice is that the layer map side bar only show layer type/stream numbers as in GDS file, which is not intuitive for users, is it possible to load a layermap file and show the string based layer names instead?
