Hello,
I will bite the bullet, and say what everyone is already thinking ehem.
Stop committing new themes! Really.
I know this subject was raised by the establishment here #10635.
But I really feel like it should be said again.
We already have more themes than people on the planet, and they all have to be maintained now!
So not only you make #PRs+1 each time, you submit a new one, but also each time you update it (or even worse, NOT, cause you fell in love with another one, and now your old one is suffering).
And I personally feel like, it is really impolite to request the eyeballs of maintainers, only because you do not like a certain color, e.g. zellij-org/zellij#4733.
We should be making the code editor better instead, and win, and we do not win by using "another uwu dark theme".
It is genuinely the case that we have about 3x people working on something actually useful (steel plugins baby 😍), and everyone else is submitting themes..
The worst part is that themes, ARE critical functionality when merged, since the editor must work in all of them equally well. It it better to have 10 themes working 100% that having 100 themes work 10%.
What is up with this individualism, just use the theme everyone else is using, you are not that special, you already use helix and rust to comfort your rebellious ego.
I know, the PRs have slimmed down a bit since the last big wave, but I feel this is important still.
We need to have a cultural theme-shaming.
Thanks.
