File name completion should detect file extension

I would like the file name completion suggestion to detect if the file extension is already in the buffer and thus automagically removes it when the user selects the suggestion:

this is something that zed does iirc

this is not a path-completion-only thing. It impacts every other completion source

Say your cursor is on |:

self.|spose()

Assume you get the transpose completion and accept it, you will be in this state:

self.transpose|spose()

You are not forced to remove the "bad bit". I think Zed can handle this, and will auto-complete the above to:

self.transpose|()

We can look how they did and implement it in Helix too

Personally I don't like things happening to my text that I did not ask for. Features like this makes both multi-cursor and reasoning about macros harder IMHO.

Why not just wchi<TAB><RET>?
